Why Florida Homeowners Choose Paver Patios
Not all outdoor surfaces withstand Florida’s conditions equally. Poured concrete cracks from heat and shifts on sandy soil. Plain slab patios fade, stain, and are hard to repair. That’s why many Florida homeowners prefer paver patio installation. Here’s what sets pavers apart:

Built for Florida's Weather
Interlocking pavers drain water naturally between joints, reducing puddles and runoff during heavy Florida downpours, something poured concrete can't do.

Easy to Repair
Damaged or stained pavers are replaced individually without touching the surrounding surface. No full resurfacing, no jackhammering, no disruption.

Fully Custom Design
Choose from dozens of premium materials, textures, and interlocking patterns tailored to match your home's architecture.

Adds Property Value
A professionally installed paver patio increases curb appeal, outdoor usability, and resale value; a smart, lasting investment for any Florida home.

Stays Cooler in the Heat
Travertine and light-toned concrete pavers stay noticeably cooler underfoot than poured concrete slabs during Florida's intense summer heat.

Built to Last Decades
Our engineered, well-compacted base ensures your investment lasts for decades with minimal maintenance.
Why Paver Patio Installation in Florida Requires the Right Approach
Florida’s climate creates challenges that most standard patio installations aren’t built to handle. Heavy tropical downpours, intense UV exposure, high humidity, and shifting sandy subgrades can cause a poorly installed patio to fail within just a few years.
Proper Slope & Grading
Every patio is graded to direct water away from your home and prevent pooling on the surface after Florida's heavy rain.
Geotextile Soil Fabric
We install a soil separation layer beneath the base to stop pavers from sinking into Florida's shifting sandy subgrade over time.
Compacted Aggregate Base
A heavily compacted crushed stone base provides the structural stability that Florida's sandy soil alone simply cannot deliver.
Polymeric Sand Joints
Joints are filled with polymeric sand that activates with water; locking pavers firmly in place and blocking weed and ant intrusion.

What Our Customers Are Saying
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a permit for a paver patio installation in Florida?
In most Florida counties across Tampa, Sarasota, and Naples, standard paver patios built directly on grade do not require a major structural building permit. However, if your patio is near a water conservation setback, inside an HOA-governed community, or being built alongside a screen enclosure, specific approvals are needed. Eclipse Service Hub handles all local code checks and HOA compliance documentation for you.
How do you stop weeds and ants from growing between the pavers?
We use water-activated polymeric sand to completely lock the interlocking joints. Unlike regular sand that washes away in tropical storms, polymeric sand hardens like mortar. This creates an impenetrable barrier that keeps your patio stable while permanently blocking weed seeds and ant mounds from pushing through.
Will heavy rain cause the patio pavers to sink or puddle?
Not when installed to our strict ICPI standards. Sinking and puddling are caused by contractors cutting corners on the base layers. We install a dual-action geotextile soil fabric over the raw dirt, followed by a heavily compacted crushed aggregate base layer. Finally, we slope the patio surface precisely (1/4 inch per foot) to ensure torrential rains safely channel away from your home’s foundation.
Can you install new pavers directly over my existing concrete slab?
Yes, but only under the right conditions. We can install thin pavers over an existing concrete slab if the concrete is structurally sound, free of major settling cracks, and has enough height clearance for your doors. During your free inspection, our in-house team will evaluate the slab’s integrity to determine if an overlay is a viable, long-term option for your home.
Is Eclipse Service Hub licensed to perform this work in Florida?
Yes. We are a fully licensed and insured contractor in the State of Florida under License #SCC131154203. Our staff operates entirely in-house, meaning your property is fully protected, all local construction regulations are strictly met, and we never hand your job off to third-party subcontractors.
