Project Overview

This residential screening renovation in Tampa, Florida, involved a complete refresh of the homeowner’s lanai and surrounding screened areas, extending across the home’s exterior openings. The project focused on improving durability, airflow, and long-term performance—especially for a household with an active dog.

In total, 27 screen panels and 2 screen doors were professionally replaced, delivering a cleaner appearance, improved functionality, and enhanced pet resistance while maintaining the open, airy feel homeowners expect from Florida screen enclosures.

The Challenge

The existing screens throughout the home had become worn and less effective over time, particularly in lower sections exposed to daily use and pet activity. These areas showed visible stress and an increased risk of tearing, reducing both durability and overall performance of the screening system.

The homeowner needed a long-term solution that would withstand scratching, pushing, and repeated contact from pets while maintaining proper airflow and visibility. The goal was to achieve a uniform, clean appearance across all screened areas and reduce the need for frequent repairs moving forward.

Our Solution & Materials

We designed a durable, pet-friendly screening solution tailored to both the home’s layout and the homeowner’s lifestyle:

• Pet-resistant screen mesh is installed in lower sections and high-impact areas to withstand scratching, clawing, and pressure from active pets
• Standard insect screen mesh is used in the upper sections to preserve airflow, visibility, and natural light
• Full replacement of all 27 screen panels to restore consistent performance across the home
• Installation of 2 reinforced pet screen doors, providing easy access while maintaining strength and durability
• Precision fitting and professional spline installation to ensure tight, secure panels with a seamless finish
• Careful inspection of existing aluminum framing, ensuring proper alignment and long-term stability

All materials were selected specifically for Florida’s climate, offering resistance to heat, humidity, and everyday wear while maintaining a clean, modern look.
